Dr. Satyapal Singh
Principal
It gives me immense pleasure to share that Seth Megh Raj Jindal Government College, Siwani (Bhiwani) is one of the premier institutions of the state of Haryana and among the finest rural colleges. The college came into existence in 1998 with the aim of educating the youth of this semi desert area and transforming them into responsible and resourceful citizens. The land along with the building with two well-built blocks was donated to the then government by the local philanthropist Shri Megh Raj Jindal and hence bears the name.
Beginning with only two programmes B.A. and B.Com. with provisional affiliation to Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak, the college started its journey in 1998 and has successfully completed 25 years of tremendous growth. It’s a matter of great pride that at present this college offers not only all the three streams of Arts, Commerce and Science at Under Graduate level with B.A., B.Com., B.Sc. (Med & Non Med) and B.A. Hons. (Geography) but also 6 Post Graduate programmes in the subjects of History, Hindi, Geography, Sociology, English and Commerce. And now, it is permanently affiliated to Chaudhary Bansi Lal University Bhiwani and recognized with 2f by the UGC.
With the pursuit of excellence in all spheres of academic life, the college strives for the holistic development of its students and, a team of well-qualified and experienced teachers provides a good quality of learning experiences to them. A number of co-curricular and extra- curricular activities are organised throughout the academic year for the personality development, capacity building and skill enhancement of the students. It is the primary goal of the college to inculcate different social, constitutional, national and human values among the students besides developing core competencies and clarity of concepts of their chosen academic disciplines of knowledge.
I am very happy that our students are doing well and touching great heights in the entire academic, sports and cultural affairs. As principal and guardian of the college, I am much convinced that this college has great potential for the upliftment of the lives of the students and thereby the people of this locality. Since inception, it has significantly been contributing for the development of society and this great nation. Moving ahead with great optimism in Longfellow’s words “still achieving and still pursuing…”
