of Conduct for the Teachers
SMRJ Government College, Siwani
is one of the premier colleges of the state of Haryana. It offers 11 different
UG & PG programmes across all the three major faculties of arts, science
and commerce. It has completed 25 years of its journey beginning from 1998. It
has established its distinct culture of quality and excellence in
teaching-learning, personality development, character building and career and
placement of its students.
The college is committedly and
continuously working for the welfare of its students with the mission to
transform these rural youth coming from economically and academically
disadvantaged backgrounds into resourceful and responsible citizens of this
great nation contributing to nation building significantly. To attain the aims
and objectives so stated, certain rules and regulations are devised by the college
to be followed and obeyed by all students, faculty and supporting staff for the
optimum gain.
The following code of conduct is to
be observed by teachers:
Abide by the
Rules and Regulations
·
Teachers
should always follow the rules and regulations devised by the Directorate of
Higher Education and the affiliating university.
Mentor –Mentee
Groups Meetings
·
Teachers
should be on regular touch to their allotted mentees and function as counselor
and mentor to sort out any problems faced by them.
·
They
should organize frequent meetings with their mentees.
Discipline and
Order in the campus
·
Teachers
should remain in full discipline themselves and inculcate the same value among
the students.
·
They
should behave politely to the students and the other supporting staff of the
college.
Dignified
Behavior
·
Teachers
should always behave in very dignified and sophisticated manner as they are the
role models of the students.
·
They
should not indulge in such activities that hurt their dignity and respect.
Inclusive and
Egalitarian Attitude for all students
·
Teachers
should keep inclusive and egalitarian attitude and behave indiscriminately to
all the students.
·
They
should not discriminate any student on the basis of class, caste, gender,
religion, region and language.
Abstinence
from Anti-Sexual Behaviour and Harassment
·
Sexual
harassment is strictly prohibited in the college and any teacher should not
indulge in such offensive act.
·
They
should respect the dignity of their fellow teachers and non-teaching staff and
the students.
Use of Parking
for Personal Vehicles
·
Teachers
should park their vehicle in the staff parking.
Save Electricity
·
Teachers
should switch off the lights and fans whenever they find them unused and
inculcate the same values among the students.
Preserve and
enhance the Greenery and Beauty of the College Campus
·
Teachers
should preserve and enhance the greenery and beauty of the college.
·
They
should motivate the students for environment conservation and plantation in the
campus.
·
They
should help maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness in the campus.
Wearing ID Cards
·
Teachers
should carry their ID cards with them.
Use of Notice
Boards and College website
·
Teachers
should regularly display all the important information for the students on the Notice
Boards and the college website (www.gcsiwani.ac.in).
Use of ICT and
other Modern Tools
·
Teachers
should use ICT and other modern tools and techniques for effective teaching.
·
They
should devise their own pedagogies suiting the needs of the learners.
Orientation to
Research
·
Teachers
should be research oriented and participate in various seminars and
conferences.
·
They
should publish research papers of good quality in reputed peer-reviewed and UGC
CARE Listed journals.
Coordination and
cooperation in Various Co-curricular and Extra-curricular Activities
·
Teachers
should coordinate and cooperate in organizing more and more co-curricular and
extra-curricular actives the development of students’ personality.
Class Attendance
·
Teachers
should take their classes regularly and punctually.
·
They
should keep proper record of the students’ attendance and regularly update
their attendance registers.
·
They
should intimate and warn the students if the attendance falls short before
striking off the names from call rolls.
Transparency in Internal
Assessment
·
Teachers
should be transparent in the internal assessment and should not be biased on
any basis.
·
They
should timely inform the students for the minor test and the written
assignments.
Completion of Syllabus
and preparation for End Term Examinations
·
Teachers
should complete the syllabus of their course concerned in time.
·
They
should prepare the students well for the End Term examinations to be conducted
by the affiliating university at the end of each semester.
·
They
should be vigilant and impartial during the examination and evaluation duties.
Optimum Use of
the College Library
·
Teachers
should use their vacant and free time in the college library to upgrade their
knowledge and skills.
